NSU’s Unity Week to Celebrate Diversity and Encourage Peace

Nova Southeastern University will hold its annual Unity Week from Jan. 20-23 with activities and events designed to celebrate diversity, create peace and foster community support.

Below are some of the highlights of Unity Week 2009. Events are free and open to the public and will be held on NSU’s main campus (3301 College Ave.). More information on these and other Unity Week 2009 events can be found at http://www.nova.edu/studentleadership/unityweek/.


Nova Southeastern University to host National Immunization Conference

Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) College of Osteopathic Medicine will host a national conference on immunization on Jan. 30 and 31.

Titled “Protecting Our Next Generation, Ages 0-3,” the conference will feature nationally recognized authorities discussing the importance of vaccinating children to prevent treatable infections. The conference will also be discussing drowning prevention for toddlers, new strategies to prevent respiratory syncytial virus and training techniques to recognize and diagnose autism spectrum disorders in children.


Nova Southeastern University Welcomes Tony Award Nominee Christine Andreas

ova Southeastern University (NSU) will host two evenings of performances with lyric soprano and two time Tony Award Nominee Christine Andreas.

Andreas will perform Feb. 6 and 7 beginning at 7 p.m. in the Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center located on NSU’s main campus at 3301 College Ave in Davie.


Nova Southeastern University Welcomes Jack Kevorkian, M.D.

he Nova Southeastern University (NSU) Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences will host an evening with Jack Kevorkian, M.D., the controversial physician who assisted his patients in committing suicide.

Kevorkian will speak on Thursday, Feb. 5, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., at the University Center on NSU’s Davie campus. As part of the college’s Distinguished Speakers Series, Kevorkian will speak on “Assisted Suicide” and the “Right to Die”,corresponding with the college’s 2008-2009 academic theme of “Life and Death.”


Famous NSU University School Alumni Star in Unprecedented Performing Arts ReUnion Show on Dec. 27

University School of Nova Southeastern University (NSU) will present the Performing Arts Alumni ReUnion Show: The Tradition Continues starring former students including famous alumni Seth Gabel and Josh Gad on Saturday, Dec. 27.
