NSU Students to Host Nursing Home Residents for “Senior Prom”
FT. LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, Fla. – Students from Nova Southeastern University will host residents from the Harbor Beach Nursing Home for a night of dinner and dancing at the annual “Senior Prom” on Tuesday, Dec. 2. This is the eighth year NSU has hosted the prom, which brings college students together with more than 40 senior residents for a fun, interactive evening.
Dressed in formal attire, NSU students will greet their “senior dates” and take part in the evening’s activities. Each couple or group will have a special prom photo taken and placed into an engraved frame to commemorate the event.
“This is a great way to give back to the community and an opportunity to meet such wonderful people,” said NSU student Joann Liria, who participated in last year’s Senior Prom and plans to again this year. “I had such a great time last year and can’t wait to do it again.”
The Senior Prom will be held from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Signature Grand in Davie.
