Nova Southeastern University Health Professions Division Chancellor Fred Lippman Elected Chairman of the Board of Governors of Palmetto General Hospital
FT. LAUDERDALE-DAVIE — Fred Lippman, R.Ph., Ed.D., Chancellor of Nova Southeastern University’s Health Professions Division, has been elected to serve as the chairman of Palmetto General Hospital’s Board of Governors. He will serve his one-year term in 2009.
Lippman has served on Palmetto’s board for nine years, two of which he served as vice chairman. There are 20 members of the Palmetto board.
Lippman’s colleagues on the board have stated that they appreciate his continued efforts to create an environment that brings the advocacy of exemplary patient care and significant professional capabilities of the medical staff and other health care providers to the tenant system administration.
As the Chancellor of Nova Southeastern University’s Health Professions Division (NSU-HPD), Lippman is responsible for six colleges — osteopathic medicine, allied health and nursing, pharmacy, dental medicine, optometry, and medicine sciences. Those colleges enroll thousands of young professionals students, and they are staffed by 1,370 faculty and non-faculty employees.
