Teen Cancer Survivor Hosts “For Hair’s Sake” Benefit at NSU to Collect Ponytails, Raise Funds for “Locks of Love,” Apr. 17

NSU student group “Locks for a Cause” will host “For Hair’s Sake” on Sunday, April 17 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. to to raise funds for cancer research and collect ponytails for Locks of Love, a non-profit that creates high-quality wigs for children who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy or a medical condition.


Federal Gov’t Shutdown Could Affect Services In S. Fla. IRS, National Parks Among Entities Affected By Shutdown

“We’re still obligated to pay the taxes, and the IRS will be online to take your money, but to answer questions and help you comply, it’s going to be an issue,” said Dr. Jack Pinkowski, a professor of government at Nova Southeastern University.

Pinkowski believes the mere threat of a government shutdown would have a ripple effect on tourism to South Florida.

“People are going to cancel their travel plans,” Pinkowski said.
