Nova Southeastern University to Hold Career Fair on October 7

Nova Southeastern University (NSU) will hold its fall Career Fair on Tuesday, Oct. 7, from 2-6 p.m. at the University Center on NSU’s main campus (3301 College Ave.). The event is free and open to the public.

Attendees to the Career Fair will be able to meet and network with the more than 35 participating corporations and organizations, including American Express, Carnival Cruise Lines, Holy Cross Hospital, and the Federal Bureau of Investigations. Professional attire is required.

NSU Receives $5.6 Million in Title V Funding

Nova Southeastern University (NSU) has announced that it has been awarded two Title V Grants totaling 5.6 million dollars by the U.S. Department of Education. The grants, paid out over several years, are awarded to Hispanic-serving institutions of higher education and will provide support to develop research-based programs targeted at increasing student engagement and retention, leading to academic success.


Kids@Home Life Coach Helps Former Foster Teen Win Four Year Scholarship

At 17 “Mimi”, suddenly found herself part of the state foster care system, working through difficult family issues and juggling her senior year studies while trying to plan for her future.

At age 18 the state support system ended almost as suddenly as it began for Mimi. Having been in the system for less than six months, she no longer qualified for any state assistance.


Nova Southeastern University Students to Aid Hurricane Victims in Haiti

Nova Southeastern University students have started a relief effort to raise money and collect food for Haitians who have been devastated by recent hurricanes and tropical storms.

Students from the university’s Health Professions Division began the humanitarian work last week by collecting nonperishable food, clothes, water, bedding and other supplies. NSU’s College of Pharmacy students also began selling stickers for $5 apiece this week to raise money for the people of Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.


Author Series Featuring Discussions on Conspiracy, Survival and Hope Begins Sept. 25 at Alvin Sherman Library

The Circle of Friends of the Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center at Nova Southeastern University announced today its 2008 Author Series, Moving Forward from Darkness to Light. Presenting authors will be Edwin Black, Margaret Ahnert and Irene Zisblatt. The Series, which is free and open to the public, begins Sept. 25 and concludes Nov. 18.


NSU to Honor Senator Steven Geller and Renowned Artist Romero Britto as the Snowflake Gala “Champions for Children” Honorees

Nova Southeastern University’s Mailman Segal Institute for Early Childhood Studies, along with presenting sponsor J.R. Dunn Jewelers, will host the 43rd Annual Snowflake Gala luncheon on Nov. 20 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Ft. Lauderdale Grande Hotel and Yacht Club.

The event serves as an opportunity to honor individuals in our community who have made a difference in the lives of children with autism and their families. This year the event will recognize Senator Steven Geller and artist Romero Britto.
