Conflict in Darfur Topic of Symposium at NSU
A Darfur native whose parents have been displaced to a refugee camp, along with several experts on the region, will be among the speakers examining the crisis and conflict in Darfur at a symposium at Nova Southeastern University (NSU).
The four-day symposium, titled “Darfur Calling” and featuring presentations, panel discussions and movie screenings, will be held Sept. 8, 9 10, and 12 at the Knight Auditorium in the Carl DeSantis Building on NSU’s main campus (3301 College Ave.). The event is free and open to the public.

President of International War Crimes Tribunal to Speak at NSU Law Center
The Honorable Judge Patrick L. Robinson of Jamaica, president of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), will speak at the Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center on Feb. 14, 2009, as part of the university’s celebration of Black History Month. NSU Opens Unicorn Children’s Foundation Clinic in September
For parents of children suspected of autism spectrum disorder, finding and obtaining an early and accurate diagnosis is a challenge on many different levels – until now.
Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) Interdisciplinary Council for the Study of Autism announces the opening of the Unicorn Children’s Foundation Clinic beginning September 16. The clinic, the first-of-its-kind in Broward County, offers parents a unique interdisciplinary approach to obtaining an assessment and possible diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder in children ages birth to five years old.
Colloquium at NSU to Explore Conflicts in Democratic Republic of the Congo and Somalia
Survivors and refugees from the conflicts in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Somalia will be among the speakers examining the crises in those two countries at a public forum at Nova Southeastern University (NSU).
The colloquium, titled “Global Crisis in the 21st Century: A Comparison of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Somalia,” will be held on March 28 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Knight Auditorium in the Carl DeSantis Building on NSU’s main campus (3301 College Ave.). The event is free and open to the public.
NSU to Honor Dan and Claire Marino with President’s Community Award at Celebration of Excellence
Nova Southeastern University (NSU) will award Dan and Claire Marino with the university’s highest honor, the President’s Community Award, at NSU’s annual Celebration of Excellence on Jan. 24 at 6 p.m. The President’s Community Award is bestowed annually to individuals whose leadership and support provides the foundation for continued growth of the university.
