NSU’s Alvin Sherman Library Turns 10, Plans Year-Long Celebration Throughout 2012
NSU’s Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center opened its doors to the public 10 years ago, but the facility’s goal remains the same: to provide top-notch service to the university and its entire surrounding community. Anniversary celebration commemorationg the milestone will include events throughout 2012.

One of the World’s Leading Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Researchers Joins Nova Southeastern University
Nancy Klimas, M.D., one of the world’s leading researchers and clinicians in chronic fatigue syndrome/myalgic encepahalomyelitis (CFS/ME), a debilitating immune disorder that affects more than one million Americans, recently joined Nova Southeastern University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine faculty in December.

(NYSE: AN) and Marti and Wayne Huizenga recently pledged significant founding gifts to create Pathway Scholars, a new community-focused scholarship program at Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship (HSBE). The Pathway Scholars program will benefit students who are financially and otherwise disadvantaged. The Huizenga Business School has developed a partnership with Take Stock in Children (TSIC) to help select students for the program.

Help Prevent Suicide, Honor Lost Loved Ones, and Save Lives During Walk at NSU on Sun. Nov. 20
Every 15 minutes, somewhere in the United States another life will be lost to suicide – the third leading cause of death among 15 to 24-year-olds. Nova Southeastern University (NSU) students hope to help change this by participating in the school’s third annual “Out of the Darkness” Walk to Prevent Suicide starting at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 20. The walk will benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) in its mission to prevent suicide and assist those affected by suicide.
NSU and Florida Diversity Council Host Talent Summit
Nova Southeastern University (NSU) and the Florida Diversity Council are hosting a Talent Summit to discuss the ways in which diversity relates to recruitment, development, and retention. This free educational event will be held Nov. 8 at NSU’s Orlando Student Educational Center.
