Veteran Fundraisers Join Institutional Advancement Team at Nova Southeastern University
Two veteran fundraisers with 55 years combined in the nonprofit sector have joined NSU’s office of institutional advancement. The announcement was made by Joanne Ferchland-Parella, NSU’s vice president of institutional advancement.
Internationally recognized humanitarian and children’s activist Samantha Nutt, M.D., will be the speaker at Nova Southeastern University’s undergraduate commencement on May 9.
Thousands to Join Autism Speaks’ 9th Annual Broward County Walk Now for Autism
Thousands of walkers – including individuals with autism, their families and friends – will join together this weekend at Autism Speaks’ 9th Annual Broward County Walk Now for Autism on Saturday, April 18 at the Alvin Sherman Library Green at NSU.
More than 1,000 baby boomers and the elderly will have access to free health care at a Nova Southeastern University health fair on Sunday, April 26.

NSU to Induct Three Business Leaders into Entrepreneur Hall of Fame
The Nova Southeastern University H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship will induct three local business leaders – Jeffrey L. Berkowitz, Miles Austin Forman and James E. McDonnell IV – into its Entrepreneur Hall of Fame on April 15.
A new exhibition: Soul of the People: Writing Florida’s Story is now open at Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center in the Second Floor Gallery, and will run through May 10.
As a part of the exhibition, the Alvin Sherman Library is sponsoring a series of programs in conjunction with “Soul of a People: Writing America’s Story,” a new television documentary about the Federal Writers’ Project (FWP) to be broadcast on the Smithsonian Channel HD. Many writers from the project later became famous, among them Saul Bellow, Zora Neale Hurston, Studs Terkel and Eudora Welty.
