Veteran Fundraisers Join Institutional Advancement Team at Nova Southeastern University

FT. LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, Fla.– Two veteran fundraisers with 55 years combined in the nonprofit sector have joined Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) office of institutional advancement. The announcement was made by Joanne Ferchland-Parella, NSU’s vice president of institutional advancement.

Carl Minardo has been appointed campaign director at NSU. In his role, Minardo will oversee prospect management and research, donor relations and stewardship, advancement services, and the organization and execution of NSU’s comprehensive campaign.

Minardo joins NSU after serving as director of financial development for the Greater Palm Beach Area chapter of the American Red Cross. Previously, Minardo spent 23 years as the director of finance and administration for the Deborah Hospital Foundation in Browns Mills, N.J.

Hank Maly has been appointed executive director of development at NSU. In his role, Maly will oversee alumni relations, special events, corporate and foundation relations, and annual giving. He will also guide the fundraising staff of NSU’s academic colleges and centers.

Maly joins NSU after serving as president of Maly Executive Search, Inc., which provides executive search services to philanthropic institutions. He also previously worked in senior development positions at Sacred Heart University in Connecticut, Manhattan College in New York, and Saint Mary’s University in Minnesota.
