University School’s Special Olympics Club Raises Funds & Coaches Athletes
University School of NSU’s Special Olympics Club has been doing remarkably well this school year by raising more than $1,100 from their jeans day and bake-sale fundraisers. The proceeds will aid the athletes of Special Olympics Broward County.
Students in the club have also been coaching the 14-and-younger Nova Snakes basketball team, and have just started the club’s second annual iPad Raffle fundraiser.
Upcoming activities include a Picnic for Special Olympics at Jungle Island in April, and a fundraiser with a local restaurant.
NSU is proud to be the only private university with a chapter of Special Olympics housed on its campus, and that students of all ages are actively involved with the group and athletes.
