SHSS to Host Genocide Conference, Nov. 12
The Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) and the Institute for Genocide Awareness and Applied Research (IGAAR) will host the Second Annual IGAAR Conference on Saturday, Nov. 12 in the Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center, Second Floor Art Gallery, from 8 am to 5 pm.
The Keynote Speaker will be Edward Kissi, Ph.D. Kissi will discuss “Africans and the Holocaust”. He is an Associate Professor of Africana Studies at the University of South Florida. Born and raised in Ghana, Africa, Kissi has been a Fellow at the Genocide Studies Program at Yale and the Center for Holocaust Studies at Clark University. Kissi is a contributor to the Encyclopedia of Genocide and is the author of Revolution and Genocide in Ethiopia and Cambodia.
