Sales Expert Speaks at the Huizenga Sales Institute

Grant Cardone

The H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship hosted a standing room only lecture on Tuesday, Jan. 29. International sales expert Grant Cardone kick started the school’s Distinguished Lecture Series with more than 175 guests in attendance for his presentation in the Huizenga Sales Institute.  The founder and CEO of three multi-million dollar companies, a New York Times best-selling author, star and executive producer of the reality TV show Turnaround King, and the host of the Cardone Zone radio show, he is regularly seen on Fox TVNBC, CNBC, MSNBC, Fox Business and Business Insider. He was also named the Top Sales Expert and a Top 10 Business Coach on Twitter.

Cardone has helped many companies maximize their profitability and branding including Rick Case Automotive Group. The Case family along with senior executives attended the lecture and generously provided students with Cardone’s books along with the Case’s book, Our Customers, Our Friends.

He spoke with a lot of passion. It may have come from his Italian mother or from having four siblings, including a twin.  He likely had to learn how to “burst through the noise” early to get attention. Today, he’ll say it’s the key to your success—telling students to get the attention of the person they want to work for. “We live in a very noisy world. You are competing with the noise of the world and not other people.” He also told students, “You must commit.” Adding that “average” is an epidemic today.

The speaker discussed his five books, all written since the 2008 financial crisis.  He wrote Sell or Be Sold three days after the collapse of Lehman Brothers. Cardone also showed a clip from his TV reality show, The Turnaround King and shared a multitude of lists and tips to help people succeed personally and professionally. His move from Los Angeles has opened many positions at his Miami Beach office. More than 1,300 applications were received but he said, “I don’t look at resumes,” and proceeded to show two 60 second videos from applicants who wanted to get his attention. His approach allowed him to identify quickly who he wanted to hire.

Cardone has two interactive online sales training centers to bring innovative sales training tools, technologies, and solutions to life, CardoneUniversity.com and CardoneOnDemand.com. Follow him on Twitter @grantcardone.

The Huizenga Business School’s Distinguished Lecture Series was founded in 1998 and has featured high-profile and local business leaders such as Jack Welch, H. Wayne Huizenga, Robert Johnson, The Honorable Clarence Thomas, Beverly Raphael, George Feldenkreis, and Carl DeSantis among many others.
