The Huizenga School of Business at Nova Southeastern University is offering a unique opportunity for military veterans by assisting them from transitioning from military to civilian life.

Bob Jarvis, a law and legal ethics professor at Nova Southeastern University, said he’s surprised a chief judge would go to a firm that has suffered such turmoil.
“Typically when judges resign, they go to more prestigious law firms and firms that don’t have this sort of taint,” Jarvis said. “It seems odd. On the other hand, maybe he is really interested in foreclosure work.”

NSU’s relief efforts for Japan featured by multiple local media outlets
In response to the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan, NSU’s Office of International Affairs, the Nova International Student Association (NISA), and other campus organizations have been working closely with the Consulate General of Japan in Miami to coordinate relief efforts. Several media outlets have covered NSU’s March 31 vigil and the April 18 “Stand Up for Japan: A Comedy Jam” fundraising events.

“We’re still obligated to pay the taxes, and the IRS will be online to take your money, but to answer questions and help you comply, it’s going to be an issue,” said Dr. Jack Pinkowski, a professor of government at Nova Southeastern University.
Pinkowski believes the mere threat of a government shutdown would have a ripple effect on tourism to South Florida.
“People are going to cancel their travel plans,” Pinkowski said.
