Scott Poland, Ed.D., was interviewed by NBC 6 on video game addiction indicating that in some instances the addiction can be the result of a personality factor.
Professor Mahmood Shivji’s genetics class is using DNA testing to determine if fish served at local restaurants are being mislabeled. Their results showed that a majority of the restaurants tested where serving fraudulent fish such as escolar being sold as white tuna. The story received FRONT page coverage in the Sun-Sentinel’s Sunday edition, as well as the Orlando Sentinel, Palm Beach Post, United Press International, WGNO, WSFL, etc.
Professor Robert C. Speth wrote an Op-Ed about the dangers of radiation exposure following the crisis at Japan’s Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. Radiation has been leaking from it since the earthquake and tsunami in March. The Op-Ed was placed in the Sun-Sentinel, Hartford Courant, and international media outlets.
