NSU Tennis Team Volunteers at the Food Pantry of Broward
The Nova Southeastern University women’s tennis team recently volunteered at the Food Pantry of Broward County. The student-athletes donated some of their weekend time for a good cause, as they helped organize and sort out tons of food in preparation for distribution to needy families in the local community for the busy holiday season.
Thousands of families in the local community received sorted packages of nonperishable food items that the student-athletes help sort and pack.
Various NSU student-athletes and athletic staff members teamed up with the Food Pantry of Broward and collected canned goods at the NSU volleyball Homecoming game on Friday, Nov. 13 to help feed those in need during the holiday season. The Nova Southeastern University Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) provided complimentary admission for all those who donated non-perishable food items to the Pantry of Broward at the game.
Head coach of the tennis team, Stephen Schram, shared his appreciation for a job well done by his athletes by saying, “It feels great to give back to the community and to help thousands of families during the holiday season. I am so proud of our team and their passion to help the many families here in Broward County while representing NSU.”
