Fischler School Alumna Included on Honor Roll of Exemplary Female Leaders
NSU alumna Yseult Charles, site administrator for the Juvenile Justice Center School in Miami, was recently honored by the National Council for Research on Women (NCRW) and added to the group’s Honor Roll of exemplary female leaders.
The Haitian-born educational leader has been a staunch supporter of children at risk for the duration of her distinguished career as teacher and administrator in the Miami-Dade County Public Schools district. Charles, who was educated in Germany and France, holds a dual bachelor’s degree from the Sorbonne and the University of Illinois-Chicago. Her master’s degree is also from the University of Illinois-Chicago.
Locally, she attended NSU’s Abraham S. Fischler School of Education for certification in educational leadership.
Before assuming her role at the Juvenile Justice Center School, Charles served as teacher, assistant principal, and principal at seven other elementary, community, and senior high/alternative schools within the Miami-Dade County Public Schools district.
