Entrepreneurs’ Council Members Participate in Graduate Business Student Association Lecture Event
The Entrepreneurs’ Council of the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship recently joined the Graduate Business Student Association at Daymond John: Lessons from an Entrepreneurial Icon on April 22, 2013. Council members attended a pre-reception held in the Huizenga Business School’s Sales Institute where they networked with students, community members, and special guest speaker Daymond John.
The event drew more than 400 guests to the Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center. John relayed his journey through colorful photos, videos, and anecdotes, directing his DJ to spin and scratch tunes accompanying the era of his related stories. He is an impressive entrepreneur who no doubt inspired many.
Daymond John is the founder and chief executive officer of FUBU (For Us By Us). Known as the “Godfather of Urban Fashion,” John has evolved into more than a fashion mogul. In 2007 the street-smart businessman penned his first book, Display of Power: How FUBU Changed a World of Fashion, Branding & Lifestyle. It was named one of the best business books in 2007 by the Library Journal. With multiple business ventures on his resume, John can be seen sharing his knowledge and business genius on numerous business and entertainment television programs such as ABC’s “Shark Tank.”
