You’ve Got the “Time”—Apply to Speak at TEDxNSU 2016
Time is usually thought of as progressing in a linear fashion. But it is more complicated than that, because every moment is dependent on what came before and every moment after is influenced by the present. You can’t separate moments in time – they exist together, all at once, influencing one another, for good or bad.
For this year’s TEDxNSU event, speakers are invited to share their unique perspective of time. Whether you reflect on historical or personal insights, we are looking for speakers who have thought about how time has influenced their and other people’s time on earth. All members of the NSU community —students, faculty, staff, and alumni—are welcome to apply for this opportunity.
Hosted by NSU’s College of Psychology and modeled after the TED Talks, TEDxNSU is an annual, public event featuring engaging lectures, videos, visual art, and interactive experiences. This is the fifth year TEDxNSU has been hosted on our campus, under the leadership of faculty members Leanne Boucher, Ph.D., and W. Matthew Collins, Ph.D.
To see examples of past speaker bios and talk abstracts, please visit the TEDxNSU Web page HERE. To apply to present your ideas at TEDxNSU 2016, completed applications must be submitted online by 6 p.m. October 5, 2015. You can find the online applications HERE.
TEDxNSU 2016: Time will take place from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2016, in the Don Taft University Center (main campus.) An application to attend the event will be made available in early 2016.
