Women’s Soccer Player Named for the Third Time as SSC Offensive Player of the Week
For the third time this season, the Sunshine State Conference has honored women’s soccer player Sierra Lelii as the Offensive Player of the Week, as announced on Monday, Sept. 28.
Lelii (R-Sr., Seminole, Fla.) scored four total goals in the team’s two victories this week, pushing their win streak to five and record to 8-2. She scored thrice for her first career hat trick against Lynn on Wednesday, Sept. 30, and then came through with the golden goal in the first overtime to beat Palm Beach Atlantic Saturday night.
Her 13 goals on the season is already just two away from the team’s single-season record, while her 28 points is six away. Both marks continue to lead the SSC, as do her totals in shots, shots per game, points per game, goals per game, and game-winning goals (the score against PBA being her fourth). She is fourth in DII in total goals, third in goals per game, fourth in game winners, fifth in total points and sixth in points per game.
The Sharks have a midweek match Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Webber International at 3 p.m., before returning home for conference play this Saturday, Oct. 10, against Saint Leo at 7.
