Women’s Soccer Picked to Finish Sixth in SSC

Malin Broberg

On Wednesday, Aug. 15, the Sunshine State Conference office announced that the Nova Southeastern women’s soccer team was picked to finish sixth in the preseason poll.

The Sharks, who finished sixth in the conference a season ago, have a lot of new players this season. Thirteen freshmen joined the team but key players from last year’s roster also participated.

Malin Broberg (Jr., Stockholm, Sweden) led the way for the Sharks last season, scoring seven goals and tallying four assists. She was named to the NSCAA All-Region Team.  Other key returners for the Sharks this year are defender Dilja Olafsdottir (Jr., Reykjavik, Iceland), who was named Second-Team All-Region and goalkeeper Michelle Fuerst (Sr., Armonk, N.Y.), who played significant minutes in goal for the Sharks last season.
