The NSU women’s soccer team (4-1-0) handily defeated one of their biggest rivals, the Lynn Fighting Knights (1-2-0), 5-1, Wednesday, Sept. 18 at the NSU Soccer Complex.

Senior Malin Broberg scored a hat trick and added and assist for the Sharks, two in the first and one in the second half, while juniors Andi Burchfield and Elizabeth Haumschild scored the second and third goals of the game.

“I’m proud of the girls tonight because we implemented a lot of the things we talked about in practice for the last month and in some cases the last year,” said head coach Michael Goodrich. “We did a great job knocking the ball around and keeping possession. A lot of our goals came from great combination play. However, we still have a lot of work to do with the tough schedule ahead.” Complete Release
