Women’s Basketball Moves Up Two Slots in Coaches’ Poll

NSU Women's Basketball Team during a huddle.

A week after claiming the first national ranking in NSU basketball history, the women’s team moved up two slots in the USA TODAY Sports NCAA Division II Top 25 Coaches’ Poll, to No. 17.

The Sharks were off all of last week, and remain at 5-0, one of 16 undefeated teams in the poll. They return to action on Saturday, Dec. 1, traveling to play at Sunshine State Conference rival Saint Leo at 2 p.m.

No. 1 Ashland continues to dominate the rankings, receiving all but one of the first-place votes. The other top vote went to No. 7 Shaw, who dropped one slot. The defending national champions will face NSU in Raleigh, N.C. on Dec. 15. The only other SSC team in the poll, Rollins, dropped nine slots to No. 13 after falling to Tusculum last week.
