Winter Recruiting Season Ends on a Successful Note
More than 1,100 prospective undergraduate students and family members visited the main campus at a variety of events during January, February, and March, 2014. All events featured admissions, program offerings, financial aid, and scholarship information, and many events catered to special groups of students by major, transfer status, or academic achievement. The inaugural year of Dinner with the Dean events featured small gatherings with faculty to afford personal conversations and career and college planning discussions. The Carnival of Majors presented a lively atmosphere in which academic divisions offered games and quizzes to learn about opportunities at the university. The Outstanding Student Reception and Dinner invited prospective students with high test scores and grade point averages to consider their options at NSU.
Two large groups of nearly 400 students each were also hosted on campus. The Key Club Spring Rally (a teen division of the Kiwanis organization) and Broward Leaders Day (a high school leadership program) afforded the Offices of Undergraduate Recruitment and Admissions opportunities to invite interest in undergraduate programs.
