This Week in Shark Athletics
Baseball
NSU’s baseball team will host Barry University in a three-game series on Friday, Apr. 7 and Saturday, Apr. 8 at the NSU Baseball Complex. On Friday, the Sharks will play the Buccaneers in a single game at 6 p.m., while on Saturday, the teams take the field for a doubleheader that is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. NSU trails in the all-time series with the Bucs, 38-24-1, but were able to squeeze out a victory against BU in a 7-6 decision on Apr. 10 of last year in Miami Shores, Fla.
Softball
NSU’s softball team hosts Saint Leo University in a three-game series at the AD Griffin Sports Complex on Saturday, Apr. 9 and Sunday, Apr. 10. On Saturday, the doubleheader will begin at 5 p.m., while Sunday’s single game is scheduled for 1 p.m. The Sharks look to take the lead in the all-time series this week as they trail, 21-20. Last season, NSU swept the Lions in the three-game series in Saint Leo, Fla.
Women’s Tennis
The women’s tennis team continues conference play as they take on Rollins College on Apr. 3 at the NSU Tennis Complex at 11 a.m. The Sharks trail in the all-time series, 7-3, while falling to the Tars last season, 8-1. NSU will take three days off before hosting Barry University at the NSU Tennis Complex on Apr. 7 at 3 p.m. The Sharks trail the all-time series with the Bucs, 5-2, while losing to them 9-0 last season.
Men’s Golf
The men’s golf team heads to Miami, Fla. for the Buccaneer Invitational hosted by Barry University on Apr. 4 and 5. Last season, the linksters tied for seventh place overall with a 16 over par score of 880 over three rounds of play. All rounds for the Invitational are scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.
Women’s Golf
The women’s golf team will travel to Beallsville, Md. for the Hoya Invitational hosted by Georgetown University on Apr. 4 and 5. The Sharks won the tournament last year with a 36 over par total of 612 over two rounds of play. Last season, Sandra Changkija won the tournament with a one under par score of 143 for her fifth victory of last season. All rounds for the Invitational are scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.
Women’s Rowing
The women’s rowing team will compete at the FIRA Championships on Apr. 8 and 9. Last season, the Sharks captured two victories while also earning two second place finishes. The Sharks finished in third overall in the regatta last season.
