Washington Named Peach Belt Male Track Athlete of the Week
Nova Southeastern track and field sprinter Talyn Washington (Sr., Royal Palm Beach, Fla.) was named Peach Belt Conference Track and Field Athlete of the Week for his performance at the South Florida Invitational.
The honor stems from his performance in the 200-meter dash, in which Washington nearly captured an automatic qualifying time in the first counted meet of the season. He won the race with a time of 20.98, provisionally qualifying him for the NCAA Division II National Championship.
Washington’s time is the top time in all of NCAA Division II. However, Washington is currently sprinting at such an elite level, his time would rank alongside the best runners in the world.
