View Free Contemporary Exhibit Featuring 18 Argentine Artists at NSU’s Library

Contemporary artwork including paintings, drawings, and sculpture created by more than 18 Argentine artists are on view through June 30 in NSU’s Alvin Sherman Library’s Second Floor Gallery.

This dynamic, FREE exhibit, in collaboration with the Consulate General of the Argentine Republic in Miami, features work that reflects the creative soul of each artist. The exhibit was also planned to coincide with the 201st anniversary of the Revolución de Mayo, which paved the way for Argentina’s independence.

Featured artists include Leda Almar, Andrea Botelli, Daniel Bottero, Ana Candioti, Cari Cohen, Pablo Contrisciani, Miriam Costanza, Marta Estrems, Daniel Fiorda, Liliana Gerardi, Gabriela Liascovitz, Cecilia Lueza, Pancho Luna, Malavi Mendoza, Laura Rozen, Carolina Sardi, Sebastian Spreng and Valeria Yamamoto.

“To me, the act of painting consists of a passion transmitted through corporal action with a self dynamic strength,” said Miriam Costanza in her artist’s statement.

Her colleague, artist Pablo Contrisciani, agreed, writing: “My work is about self-expression. I use abstract painting to have more freedom to deal directly with my emotions without the interference of the mind.”

Come see how all of these artists have expressed their connection to their native roots and creative vision. The exhibition is FREE and open to the public at NSU’s Alvin Sherman Library during the following hours:

  • Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Sundays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
