Valley Named SSC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
Nova Southeastern University women’s basketball guard Jessica Valley was named the latest Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week, as announced on Monday, Jan. 5 by the league office.
Valley (R-Jr., Lafayette, Ind.) came just an assist shy of a triple-double in NSU’s 77-71 win on the road over Eckerd on Saturday, Jan 10 to start the new year. Her 12 rebounds and nine assists both set new career highs, and her 10th point of the night was the final point in the victory.
On the season, the Shark newcomer has started all 11 games for the 9-2 team, averaging 9.0 points, a team-best 7.3 rebounds and 4.5 assists. She shoots 45.8 percent from the field and is the team’s leader in 3-point percentage at 44.4 percent.
The Sharks are back in action on Wednesday, Jan 14, traveling to Boca Raton to take on the Lynn Fighting Knights.
