University School Students Place First in the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival

Lolita

Jessica Roman, Sydney Juda, and Sierra Bardfeld.

Congratulations to University School seniors Jessica Roman and Sydney Juda for placing 1st on a documentary in the student section of the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF)! The documentary called “Lolita: The Bathtub Whale” is based on the life of the orca whale who lives at Miami Seaquarium. Senior Sierra Bardfeld’s documentary, “My Hero,” received an Honorable Mention in that category!

The award at FLIFF is not the first accolade that Roman and Juda have received for “Lolita: The Bathtub Whale.” The duo won “Best Documentary” at the 2016 All American High School Film Festival in New York. Way to go Sharks!
