University School Students Participate in Earth Day Activities
USchool students celebrated Earth Day on Tuesday, April 22 by planting 200 Moringa seeds, in collaboration with Bio Planet International, for the Trees for Haiti Project. Bio Planet’s President Jack Haime explained to students the nutritional benefits of Moringa trees, how to plant them, and the importance of reforesting with native trees. Haime will return in one month to pick up the seedlings and send them to Haiti. To help cover expenses for the seedlings, including shipping and planting them, several USchool groups donated $1,000 to the organization. The Upper School WIND Club, Green Team, Science Honor Society, Middle School Builder’s Club, and Lower School’s K-Kids and Campus Companions all worked together to raise the money to help people in Haiti.
