University School Forensics Team Brings Home 37 Awards

At the recent Stoneman Douglas Speech and Debate Tournament, University School of NSU Forensics Team brought home a grand total of 37 awards.

The awards were in all categories of competition – Interpretation, Public Speaking, and Debate.  Congratulations to novices Sarah Julius, Deborah Poplack and Ashcon Abae for breaking to varsity elimination rounds in their respective speech events. Cooper Linn, Logan Peretz and Kelly Venturi also broke to varsity elimination rounds for Debate.  

In varsity, special recognition goes to Matt Linn for winning Extemporaneous Speaking, Brian and Sean Oldak for winning Duo Interpretation, Kelly Venturi for winning Novice LD, James Stage for being named Top Speaker in PF Debate, Jeff Zheng for being named Top Speaker in Policy Debate, Ashcon Abae for winning Novice Humorous and Hannah Samson for winning varsity LD Debate.
