University School Administrator Named a 2010 Hispanic Woman of Distinction
Mary Ortiz Kandler, Associate Director of University School of NSU’s Lower School, has been named a 2010 Hispanic Woman of Distinction.
The ninth annual charity luncheon recognizes 12 distinguished women of Hispanic ethnicity who have made a significant contribution to the community while maintaining their culture and traditions.
“Mary’s influence on the community spans 36 years and hundreds of children, colleagues and families,” said Kandler’s nominator, Lower School Director Nadine Barnes. “Her legacy continues to fill with dignity, pride, kindness and the uniqueness of a person who truly has made a difference in many lives.”
The high-powered “Latin flavored” luncheon will take place on Aug. 13 at the Signature Grand in Davie. This celebration is one of the many diverse events and activities of the 21st annual Viva Broward! Calendar of Events and will serve as the countywide official kick-off for Hispanic Heritage Month.
