Nine Undergraduates Inducted into National Honor Society for Legal Studies

Nine students from the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences became members of Lambda Epsilon Chi, the national honor society in paralegal/legal assistant studies, at a ceremony on Apr. 20.

The Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences hosted an induction ceremony on Apr. 20, to honor nine students invited to join the NSU chapter of Lambda Epsilon Chi, the national honor society in paralegal/legal assistant studies.

Students inducted into the honor society demonstrate “superior academic performance” (as defined by the Lambda Epsilon Chi charter), earning an overall grade point average of 3.5 or higher and a 3.75 GPA in legal studies courses.

Inducted this year from the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences were Christina Asburry, Susan Marie Eversole, Gilda Finkelstein, Victoria Habib, Natalia Ospina, Sarah Petersen, Kelley Preston, Kanece Trim, and Cecilia Ulpiz.

In attendance at the ceremony to congratulate these students were Don Rosenblum, Ph.D., dean of the college; Tom Fagan, Ph.D., director of the college’s Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences; Jessica Garcia-Brown, J.D., LL.M., faculty adviser for Lambda Epsilon Chi, assistant professor, and coordinator of paralegal studies; Ellen Kracoff, J.D., assistant professor; and Alan Lewis, J.D., adjunct professor in the Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Friends and family members of the students inducted also attended.
