Undergraduate Admissions Begins Recruiting Season

The College of Undergraduate Studies’ Offices of Undergraduate Recruitment and Admissions have a full calendar of activities underway to attract students for upcoming years. Recruiters are on the road visiting high schools, community colleges, and organizations throughout the country. At the main campus, high school counselors and educational consultants visited in early September for the annual College Board Meeting and Admissions Luncheon. Thirty-nine counselors from across the tri-county area had the opportunity to learn about scholarships and tour the campus.

The main campus recruiting events schedule kicked off with the season’s first Dinner with the Dean. Hosted by the Fischler School of Education, Interim Dean Ronald Chenail, Ed.D. welcomed prospective education major students and family members. Dinner tables were hosted by Dr. Chenail and Jamie Manburg, Ed.D., Associate Dean/Program Professor; Terry Davis, M.S., Director, Undergraduate Enrollment and Recruitment; Melissa Edrich, M.S., Program Instructor; Rashid Moore, Ph.D., Program Professor; Sandra Trotman, Ph.D., Program Professor; Ruben Delgado, M.S., Associate Director of International Recruitment; and Jessica Sanders, M.S., Coordinator of Special Projects. The Dinner with the Dean events give families an opportunity to have intimate conversations with faculty to plan for college attendance.

Upcoming events include College Preview Day (September 27), Dinners with the Dean (Political Science, Legal Studies, and History majors on October 2 and Athletic Training and Exercise and Sport Science on October 28), the Outstanding Student Reception and Dinner on October 17, and University Open House on October 18.
