UM-NSU Center for Autism & Related Disabilities Open House, Sept. 26

NSU Miramar

NSU Miramar Campus

The University of Miami Department of Psychology and Nova Southeastern University’s Department of Speech-Language Pathology invite you to an Open House event on Monday, September 26 from 10 a.m. to noon to celebrate the UM-NSU Center for Autism & Related Disabilities’ newest office, located at NSU Miramar Branch Library & Education Center. Members of the community are welcome to meet the staff, enjoy a light breakfast, and celebrate the official ribbon cutting ceremony, which will begin at 11 a.m., while learning about UM-NSU CARD’s programs and services.

Thanks to funding from a private foundation and other CARD donors, the new UM-NSU CARD branch office will be dedicated to transitioning individuals living on the autism spectrum and providing adult services within Broward County. The new office will be the home to many of the specialized support systems and programs CARD offers to its teenage and adult clients in Broward County, including social groups for adults, job clubs and training, and many more.

The Open House also presents an opportune time for attendees to speak with CARD Directors, clinicians, and other staff about the variety of support groups, trainings, and other activities that are available to support individuals of all ages in the Broward community.
