UM-NSU CARD Special Gals Group Gardens in Memory of Robin Parker
The Special Gals group of the University of Miami-Nova Southeastern University Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (UM-NSU CARD) met for their May monthly meeting to garden on the patio of the Griffin Road NSU building where the Speech Clinic and CARD office are located.
The Special Gals group is a social opportunity, sponsored by UM-NSU CARD, for girls of all ages with autism spectrum disorder. The Gals meet monthly in the community and participate in fun, unique activities. For the gardening activity, the Gals planted flowers and succulents in raised garden beds in memory of Robin Parker, SLP.D., CCC. Robin Parker served as the Broward CARD Satellite Director and Program Professor and Clinical Supervisor in the Programs in Communications Sciences and Disorders at NSU. The Special Gals group hopes to honor her memory and the joy she brought to this world through the beauty of the flowers planted.
