Registration for Land Sharks Walking/Running Program Closes Aug. 8
NSU’s Campus Recreation is offering a new walking/running program, called Land Sharks, for people of any fitness level who are interested in the ultimate 5K training program.
- Are you interested in running or walking a 5K?
- Do you want to improve your 5K running time?
- Do you want to be a part of something unique and fun with your friends, family, or colleagues?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this is the perfect program for you.
Who is the Land Sharks program for?
This 8-week running/walking program designed for any individual of all fitness levels interested in an active way to get in shape and to stay in shape! This program is individually designed to fit your specific fitness goals, whether you want to get ready to run or walk your first 5K, or whether you want to improve your 5K running time. Join with friends, family, or on your own, and follow your 8-week program, which includes 2 coaching sessions per week, 4 independent workouts per week, and the big event: running or walking in a 5K race! The cost of the Land Sharks program is $40, due by your start date, and it does not include any applicable 5K race registration fees.
Based on your current activity level, and walking or running experience you will be placed in one of the following Land Sharks levels:
- Beginner: All fitness levels welcome!
- Intermediate: No 5K experience required.
- Advanced: With the goal of improving your running time/performance, this level requires at least one previous 5K experience within the past year.
Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate or advanced, the common goals for all program participants are to get ready to complete a 5K, to improve your current fitness level, and commit to participating in a fun program.
