Most notably, the Sharks had two athletes named Co-PBC Runners of the Year on the women’s side in Jessica Osteen (Sr., Las Vegas, Nev.) and Peri Bowman (Jr., Virginia Beach, Va.).

Osteen won the 400-meter run, NCAA automatic qualifying standard with a time of 56.07, a meet record. She also was the 400-meter hurdles champion with a time of 1:01.97 to make her second provisional qualifying time of the meet. Osteen then continued her success and participated in the 4×400 relay where she led off for the Sharks as they won the event with a stadium record time of 3:49.13. The team included: Monica Sapp (Fr., Miami, Fla.), Quannisha Allen (Fr., St. Augustine, Fla.) and Johniqua Stafford (Sr., Fort Worth, Texas). Osteen also had a successful run in the 4×100 relay as well.
