Track and Field Highly Recognized by Peach Belt Conference
The Nova Southeastern men and women’s track and field teams were highly recognized at the 2013 Peach Belt Conference Track and Field Championships, bringing home four postseason awards.
Most notably, the Sharks had two athletes named Co-PBC Runners of the Year on the women’s side in Jessica Osteen (Sr., Las Vegas, Nev.) and Peri Bowman (Jr., Virginia Beach, Va.).
Osteen won the 400-meter run, NCAA automatic qualifying standard with a time of 56.07, a meet record. She also was the 400-meter hurdles champion with a time of 1:01.97 to make her second provisional qualifying time of the meet. Osteen then continued her success and participated in the 4×400 relay where she led off for the Sharks as they won the event with a stadium record time of 3:49.13. The team included: Monica Sapp (Fr., Miami, Fla.), Quannisha Allen (Fr., St. Augustine, Fla.) and Johniqua Stafford (Sr., Fort Worth, Texas).
