Track Earns Two PBC Athletes of the Week
The Nova Southeastern University men’s track and field team took home a pair of Peach Belt Conference honors, as seniors Talyn Washington (Royal Palm Beach, Fla.) and Ryan Jerothe (New Port Richey, Fla.) earned athlete of the week honors.
Washington was recognized for his performance in the 400-meter dash at the UCF Twilight Invitational. Washington finished with a personal best time of 46.81. Ranked seventh in the nation in the event, Washington’s time is the best in the conference by nearly a whole second. He also led the relay team to a win in the 4x100m at 40.91.
Jerothe matched a season-best mark of 4.95m, finishing fourth in the pole vault. The best pole vaulter in the league, Jerothe stands at 18th overall in the nation and on the bubble for a spot at the NCAA National Championship.
NSU’s last chance to improve their times will be Friday, May 8 at North Florida.
