Track and Field Seats 13 Student-Athletes in Pelt Belt Conference All-Academic Team
Nova Southeastern University men and women’s track and field team placed 13 student-athletes in the 2016 Peach Belt Conference (PBC) All-Academic squads.
The PBC office announced a total of 46 female and 26 male student-athletes on the lists of PBC All-Academic teams. The NSU Sharks are well represented through the following five female and eight male student-athletes:
Quannisha Allen (Sr., St. Augustine, Fla.), 3.39 in Legal Studies
Stephanie De La Guarda (So., Miami, Fla.), 3.43 in Biology
Jazmine Elleston (So., Piscataway, N.J.), 3.84 in Biology
Falon Irwin (Jr., Galloway, N.J.), 3.32 in Exercise and Sport Science
Krystine Sora (So., Scarborough, Ontario), 3.84 in Marine Biology
Uguens Decius (Sr., Miami, Fla.), 3.53 in Accounting
A.J. Franklin (Sr., Pensacola, Fla.), 3.52 in Legal Studies
Thomas Ingalls (Jr., St. George, Utah), 3.46 in Marine Biology
Benjamin Manuel (Jr., Willemstad, Curacao), 3.84 in Management
Ian McQuate (So., Keaau, Hawaii), 3.85 in Exercise and Sport Science
Christian Oppel (Sr., Lautertal, Germany), 4.00 in Business Admin Graduate
Lucas Ruiz (Sr., Tuscon, Ariz.), 3.61 in Exercise and Sport Science
Long Tran (Sr., Saigon, Vietnam), 3.85 in Nursing Graduate
Each team is part of a season-long program recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of PBC student-athletes in the classroom as well as on the field.
To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must 1) participate in at least half of his/her team’s events and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and 3) completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution and has reached sophomore athletic eligibility.
