Track and Field Assists with Shark Shuffle 5K
Recently, the NSU track and field teams assisted with the annual Shark Shuffle 5K.The annual event, raising money for active scholars, is held on the campus of NSU and goes from the Alvin Sherman Library, around campus and back. The Sharks assisted by handing out water at each mile point to the participants.
“The Shark Shuffle enabled us to interact with both the community, the fellow NSU students and the rest of our athletic training program,” said track and field runner Corey De Leon (Sr., Northvale, N.J.). “It taught us how to work together as a group, and how to show support for others. Since we as track athletes are always on the other side of the spectrum in terms of being the athlete, in the event of the Shark Shuffle, we were the audience instead.”
