Tools for Success, Winter 2017 Workshop Series, Last one is April 11

600px--TFS-Winter-2017The Office of Undergraduate Student Success has partnered with faculty and student support units to offer undergraduate students dynamic workshops. The Tools for Success Workshop Series is designed to assist students in adapting to university life and ultimately achieving degree completion. The outcomes of the workshop series are to support undergraduate student success by creating awareness of NSU programs and resources and to promote academic achievements. Study Math Smarter Not Harder!- Join the Tutoring and Testing Center for an interactive workshop that will help you take deliberate actions to improve math confidence, performance, and comprehension.

Freshmen: Preparing for Your Sophomore Year- In this session, you will gain an understanding of what you should know early on, why is it important to plan in advance, and how to achieve success at NSU and beyond.

Your Career/Major: Exploring Your Passion- This workshop will provide tools and resources to help you as a student make an informed decision about your career. The session will be interactive and include activities that will help you understand your values and personality type and how that aligns with certain careers/industries. You will also leave with a better understanding of how to develop a strategic game plan to confirm this passion for a career or major and how to transform that passion into experiences that will assist you in reaching future career goals.

Improving Your Writing Process, Revising and Editing- Students will engage in writing activities that help them develop stronger revision and editing processes.

Mind and Body Meditation- This interactive workshop will begin with a seated meditation, a few breathing exercises, some gentle movement as space allows, and close with self-massage to melt way stress and rejuvenate your day.
