Three Sharks Receive PBC Player of the Week

Molina, Hendricks and Jordan honored for performance at Multicultural Event.

The Nova Southeastern University track and field team had three Athlete of the Week honorees from the Peach Belt Conference in Sherelle Jordan (So., Chandler, Ariz.), Sydney Molina (Fr., Miami, Fla.) and Darren Hendricks (Jr., North Port, Fla.). The trio earned the honors after a solid performance at the Miramar Multicultural Event.

In the women’s discus throw, Molina reached a distance of 39.90m while Hendricks hit a mark of 46.68m, a three meter improvement on his season-best throw. Both Sharks finished second in the discus. Hendricks followed up with a win in the hammer throw at 45.75m. For Molina, the budding freshman also placed third in the shot put with a mark of 11.70m for a new season-best distance.

In the hurdle events, Jordan finished the 100m with a time of 13.87. The new season-best provisional qualifying time lifts her into the top-10 in all of NCAA Division II and makes her a favorite to be invited to compete at nationals
