Three Rowers Named CRCA Scholar Athletes

Bergen, Hudon and Obringer each carry above a 3.5 cumulative GPA.

Bergen, Hudon and Obringer each carry above a 3.5 cumulative GPA.

The Nova Southeastern University rowing team had three student-athletes in Rebecca Bergen (Sr., Winnipeg, Manitoba), Amanda Hudon (Jr., Sebastian, Fla.) and Kelsey Obringer (Sr., Port Republic, N.J.) receive Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Scholar Athlete honors.

The student-athletes earned the award after finishing their fall semester with a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher. Other requirements set by the CRCA are that the student be in their second, third or fourth year of eligibility, competed in 75 percent of the team’s events and have met all institutional eligibility requirements.

Bergen, the athletic department’s Female Scholar Athlete of the Year, finished her semester with a 3.99 GPA in Biology. Hudon continues to study in the environmental science program, while former Elite 89 honoree Obringer earned the honor as a political science major.
