Three of NSU’s Academic Diving Program student employees pass PADI Instructor Exam
Giant-striding from Divemaster to Instructor is no easy feat. The PADI Instructor Development Course is unlike any other scuba program; it transforms the seasoned diver into an educator and leader. The challenges presented throughout the course are designed to prepare the candidate to teach effectively in the real world with safety, adherence to training standards and mastery learning as the backbone.
Paul Katz, Katelyn Ludington and Michael Garcia excelled in their academic presentations, confined water (aka pool), and open water skill presentations. All PADI programs are performance based and because of their dedication, enthusiasm, and background working for the NSU Academic Diving Program, they were well-prepared for the PADI Instructor Examination held in Fort Lauderdale on July 23 and 24.
Students taking classes with us in the Fall Semester can look forward to learning from them.
Katelyn Ludington came to NSU with a Bachelors in Business Management and is now pursuing a master’s degree in Accounting. As a six-year veteran scuba diver, she now adds Open Water Scuba instructor to her resume.
Paul Katz, is your NSU Scuba Crew president and is a Marine Biology major, Marine Ecology minor and he is also working towards a certificate in Leadership. Paul has been scuba diving for more than six years.
Michael is a jack of all trades for NSU’s Office of Recreation and Wellness; he is a personal trainer, GroupX Instructor and teaches the very popular Battle Ropes Burn class. Michael is also a Paramedic and has been scuba diving since 2014.
Lucky is the diver to be underwater with our newest NSUADP Scuba Diving Instructors!
