“The Unbroken” Wins the 25th Annual Anything That Floats Raft Races

raft race

The Unbroken celebrate with NSU President George L. Hanbury II, Ph.D.

More than 300 NSU students, faculty, and staff recently came out to cheer the competitors in the historic 25th Annual “Anything That Floats” Raft Races that took place November 9 as part of the NSU 2016 Homecoming Week.

A record 43 rafts, constructed by NSU students, set sail on the Gold Circle Lake to compete for one of three exciting prizes. This year featured an out-of-water race start. Some rafts powered the straight-away to cross the finish line at the “fin.” However, many rafts were not so sea-worthy and sank or simply fell apart; this led to great hilarity for the spectators.

The winners of each heat came togDSC_0001_resizeether in a very close championship heat:

• First Place: The Unbroken
• Second Place: The Rotarowens
• Third Place: KK Rowin’

Congratulations to all participants and winners at 25th Annual “Anything That Floats” Raft Races!
