Tennis Releases 2015-16 Schedule
The Nova Southeastern University women’s tennis team and head coach Stephen Schram look to build on last year’s breakthrough campaign as they have announced the team’s 2015-16 schedule, to start with individual events in the fall.
NSU will play in various USTA tournaments in September and October, centered around the ITA Regionals, hosted by West Florida in Pensacola, Sept. 24-28. Those results will prepare the Sharks for team competition in the spring, beginning at home in mid-February.
The 2016 opener will see the team host Armstrong State at the NSU Tennis Complex on Friday, Feb. 12, beginning at 10 a.m. Two weeks following that, at 2 p.m., NSU will play Palm Beach Atlantic, before embarking on a four-match tour of southern California.
From March 2-5, the team will take on west coast opponents Point Loma Nazarene, UC San Diego, Hawaii Pacific (at UCSD) and Azusa Pacific, before returning to Fort Lauderdale the following week for three consecutive home matches. A couple of weeks later, they open up Sunshine State Conference play, first away at Eckerd (11 a.m. on March 26), then for the first time at home on March 30 against Barry, with a 3 p.m. first serve.
The end of eight straight in-conference matches coincides with the regular season finale at home, against Saint Leo on Sunday, April 17, a 10 a.m. start. Postseason play begins April 28 in Tampa with the SSC Championships, with the NCAA DII Championships scheduled from May 18-21 in Denver.
