Target Stores Gets Help From Business School Students on Canadian Expansion Plans

Five teams of M.B.A. students in the Entrepreneurial and Strategic Thinking class at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship recently competed in the Target Case Study program. Target presented the students with a current problem facing the corporation: As Target gets ready to open over 130 stores in Canada in 2013, how should Target prepare for its entry into Canada?

Based on the student presentations and their unique strategic solutions to the case study, Target selected Nicholas Arcos, Robert Leon and Scott Woodrey’s “Target on Ice” team for first place. Coming in second place was the team of Marla Hernandez, Seth Postman and Richard Rinaldi.

The winning teams received awards from the Target Campus Grant program that supports partnerships between Target Corporation and selected universities throughout the United States. The Huizenga Business School is proud to have been selected as a Target partner university working with Target to provide learning opportunities and employment opportunities for its student and solutions to current business problems for Target.
