Tanaka Named Second Team All-SSC Softball
NSU student-athlete and shortstop, Samira Tanaka, was named to the All-Sunshine State Conference Softball Second Team, as announced by the conference office last week.
Tanaka (Jr., Sao Paulo, Brazil) led the Sharks in batting average in her first year on the squad, hitting .354, ranking her 10th in the SSC. She also led NSU in runs scored (35) and had the team’s highest on-base percentage (.409), marks that slotted her sixth and 11th in the conference, respectively. Her 57 hits were good enough for seventh highest in the SSC.
