Surviving Skokie Film Screening and Panel Discussion, May 9
Join the Alvin Sherman Library for a screening of the award winning film, Surviving Skokie, Wednesday, May 9 from 6:30 – 8:30 pm, followed by a panel of NSU Faculty and community leaders for a thought provoking discussion about the rise in anti-semitism and racism. Surviving Skokie is an intensely personal documentary, exploring the effects of a late 1970s threatened neo-Nazi march in Skokie, IL on its large Holocaust survivor population. This event is part of the 10 Days of Connection, in which for 10 days in May, we challenge everyone to step out of their comfort zones and connect with people who are not like them, in whatever way they are ready. May 1 – 10, 2018.
Free and open to the public.
