Student Occupational Therapy Association Team Wins 2011 Olympiad Toilet Seat Toss at Charity Event

Toilet Seat Toss Winners from left to right: 1st-year occupational therapy students Joe Yunek, Phil Napuli, Charles Simmons, Justin Proffitt, and John Besharat.

Rebuilding Together of Broward County hosted a fun-filled annual fund-raising called Olympiad & Family Festival on Oct. 15 at the Bergeron Rodeo grounds, Davie. First and 2nd year occupational therapy students from Nova Southeastern University’s College of Allied Health and Nursing had a major role at the Olympiad by providing 25 volunteers, fielding an Olympiad team competing in construction-related events, winning the toilet seat toss. The students also contributed a significant philanthropic donation to a worthy cause. Rebuilding Together of Broward County is a non-profit organization that helps low income elderly home owners in need of home modifications, clean-up, repairs, etc. for safe and healthy living in a clean home environment.
